Magic Bumrush Heartz We were wearing monkey masks like all the kids in Bushwick watchin’ the camera zoomin’ in and out like I remember how the orange juice sun would pour the jammin’ in the kitchen 2004 we echoed JAH into the heat-soaked summer night. and you were alive you were so alive you were alive and if you see me down upon that sleeping mirror watching the T.V. static in and out like I remember how we were sitting on The bench beside the ocean and I wanted to talk to you about if you were on the other side and you would say hi you should say hi you should stay high.
3.
I woke up from a purple dream the house was dark a lonely gleem had flashed upon my waking ice such a sad device that I could not seem to make nice I’m still the same old boy you see I’m a little more tough than I used to be but I’m still not good at goodbyes and I still keep putting out fires That come to be The charm of you has come to me and I’m a little more soft than I used to be I still can take a surprise You’ve got the sweetest replies so I just keep killing the flies surrounding me.
4.
We’re pretty diamonds pouring out all dancing on massive flowers like horses pouring down Where could we go? We’re pretty pictures painted out synapsing in crimson brainwaves Oceans washing down Where do we go From here? don’t say nothing I want it more than before yeah yeah – say something You’re a God upon your own shore We’re bloody lightning crashing down tap dancing on massive razors Godheads falling south Where will we go From here? Don’t say nothing I want it more than ever before Yea Yea – Say something You’re a God upon your own shore.
5.
The cups in the kitchen sink mean I’ve had too much to drink and I don’t think that I can think about you anymore but if I could change your mind If I could stand still in line If I could feel fine without you anymore You know I would take the step off stones from the water’s edge and balance my trembling breath in time for the other side I miss you so much, it hurts so bad I miss you so much, and I’m so sad I miss you so much, it hurts so bad You’re the only love that I’ll never have
6.
They were the bright wax jammerz Teenage helperz for foggy schooldays skipped in Ohio parking lot I’m trying not to hide I’m trying to get you I wanna save you like all of them saved me Before we go underground They’re finally in our town They’re finally underground And I am the screaming highway Hiroshima We got a gift for our next level brothers and sisters. I’m trying not to hide I’m trying to get you I wanna save you like all of them saved me. and I could get to you the way they got to me before we go underground.

Knocked out, try to climb too high you might escape your virtue, looking to the ground you lost your wings. Punch drunk in the winter sun, it’s all a dream. So let’s take a ride inside the dream. Let’s take a ride inside the dream. Let’s take a ride inside the dream. If you could look into the sleeping scenes in which I awake, you could see why I want you this way. My life is second guesses now, reflecting on the lake, and what I wanted to say is washed out, try to fall too far you might succeed in your virtue, spinning all around you lost your friends. Punch drunk in the summer wind, it’s all a dream. So let’s take a ride inside the dream. Let’s take a ride inside the dream. Let’s take a ride inside the dream. If you could look into the sleeping scenes in which I awake, you could see why I want you this way. My life is second guesses now, reflecting on the lake, and what I wanted to say is…

…if you say so, you'll never know how I will go further than you run. You don't know what's been done in the past - a soldier's grasp to try and make it last. You don't know what's flashed past in the night that wasn't right. You're out of sight but I can still see your face. It's a disgrace in the white, so blind. Never mind that you were left out in the rain because you can't feel pain. And if you want we can never talk. And if you want we can never talk. And if you want we can never talk. That's what you’ll say, but I don't know and you will never know.
10.
there is a free-floating guise fucking the back of my head drill holes in the sky the color of lead we of the great appetite the grit and the road tore a hole in the ass of our jeans overfed and alone there is a monkey in my chair there is a monkey in my chair somebody turned out the lights there is a monkey in my chair
11.
You motion to make haste now The separation of two valuable lies has pressed you into a symptom Now that’s a surprise for the girl who flies by all dressed in the night with her heart paper white Wake me up, plunge your head in the river Somehow stop all these terrible spots of delight Pull me out of that windy newspaper Crashing on by, With that look in your eyes With the blue in your skies With your paper heart cries.
12.
Fed up, I threw the notebook across the room Threw up once more this morning knowing I would never see you again And that’s just how it is You take what you can’t leave You smoke and watch the fire smoldering with ashes in your eyes it comes as no surprise I kicked the table down smashed glasses in my sleep and I could smell the demons surrounding me But that’s just how it is You take one on the chin You smoke and watch the fire smoldering with ashes in your eyes it comes as no surprise.

I held the waterfall, felt all it fall, returned the favor I held the loving cup, made nice to all the friends you gave her Its nothing like two new balloons Stuck in your secret pocket I tasted caramel and plugged the amp Into the socket Now we’ve got fantasies to meet and greet Return the savior Postmodern Falconry we sought to teach Dr. Xavier We’ll hide inside the mall and kill it all The lonely locket LeBron the labyrinth taking off inside A secret rocket.
15.
When we got there, The legions were long gone. The monuments were cracked and war-torn. All false idols around we had to tear them down we had to build our own. Now moving on from the naval-gazing loners Posers at the gate We will carve our names in the snow find out right away (and say) When we left there A legacy to be undone for jokers yet to come. It’s just a fact, these supernatural disasters of the modern age. Weird cosmic jokes and ponytail jive That’s what we’ll fight and we will save the date We will carve our names in the snow find out right away We will melt our names in the stone look back at today and say…

about

From Allmusic.com
With a name inspired by French poet René Char, The Library Is on Fire is the brainchild of founder Steve Five. Drawing on influences the indie rock of the ‘90s, the band’s sound combines the raw guitar rock of Dinosaur Jr. with the lo-fi melodies of Guided by Voices. The band began as a recording project for Five in 2007, who made the trek from New York to the sleepy college town of Kent, OH to record at the famous Waterloo Studios with Guided by Voices producer Todd Tobias. The result would be the band's 2008 debut, Cassette. Needing to assemble a band for live shows, Five recruited bassist Mark Shue and drummer Peter Sustarsic to help bring his sonic vision to life on-stage. After a prolific year of songwriting, the band returned to Waterloo to record their follow-up album, Magic Windows, Magic Nights, which was released in 2010 on (Fill in the Blank) Records.
